First question I have is Any body successful with a self made Nutrisystem diet? Thanks in advance for any answer. Another question... I didn't really want to start a new thread for a simple question but oh well.. |

Hmm... I need to find out myself. I don't know what is the answer. I'll do some investigation and get back to you if I discover an good answer. You should email the people at Nutrisystem as they probably can answer it..

First off the Sodium is not that high in Walden's Dressing. I just looked in my fridge, I have 4 different kinds. The lowest is only 160mg and the highest is 250mg. The Nutrisystem Potatoes has over 700mg of sodium..
The average person should consume NO MORE THAN. 2300. Mg a day. Between the food you add in and the food that Nutrisystem already provides you contains all the sodium you should have for a day. I suggest if you want more salt with your food you should use. NO. SALT. .. (even though it's radioactive) Remember to keep an eye on your electrolytes on a sodium restrictive lifestyle... |

I had picked up a bottle of Kraft fat free thousand island dressing last night, but tossed it after talking to a counselor. I think they said 130mg per serving was considered low sodium, and mine was over 200mg...

I just buy very low fat or fat free in the grocery store. Works fine, inexpensive, tastes as good as anything like it. Since I only use 2 tbspn of it on a salad, per the Nutrisystem menu plan, the sodium is inconsequential...

Here is an article from the Mayo clinic on sodium as it affects different people in different ways..

You really should stay away from Mayo while you're on this program. Way too much fat...

Mayo is ok as a fat serving in SMALL Portions. I think it's 1tsp in the meal planner or something like that. I don't think that Kraft LF/FF dressings are bad, even with the sodium. I guess we have to watch it because.
Some. People retain water more than others and sodium can affect that if you eat too high sodium...but drinking water should remedy that, right?.. |
|
No. Seriously. You should avoid mayo while on the program. Use mustard..
That said, it was a joke... |
|
It must be really bad if they have an entire clinic for it...
