Hello Flirts!.

I am so glad that there is a new thread! I was starting to have trouble loading the old one on my phone, which I like to do on my lunch break at work..

Today is a beautiful day! The weather is gorgeous! I broke into the 260's this morning! I am thrilled about that! I also dropped a couple of pants sizes. I went from a huge-on-me size 22 to a comfortably snug 18! I haven't been this size in quite a number of years and am loving sitting here in my new-to-me size 18 capris! I hope you are all doing really well today! Be well!..

Good end of weekend ladies!.

I have gone from a "eh I don't feel so good" to an "OMG kill me NOW!!!" with this head cold so I spent my entire weekend in bed resting. I have to admit I loved it, aside from being sick. I have spent every weekend for the past month driving the 3.5 hours to Portland for one thing or another and having a weekend where nothing was expected of me was awesome! Okay so I did have to take one of my other kitties to the vet for a URI and take care of my little sister for a bit, but other than that this weekend was all about NOTHING..

I've even had 2 solid days 100% OP which is totally what I needed. I had gone back up to 270 and just about cried, even though I totally knew it was going to happen, but today the scale was my buddy and I'm down to 266.8 which is a little better than I was when I went off plan like two weeks ago. Tomorrow is the day I weigh, measure, and check in with my coach and I'm hoping for something a little closer to 266 even or, if I'm super lucky and have given enough praise to the weight loss deity, 265..

So huge NSV moment that I have to freak out about because I'm of the mind set that girls like me don't get hit on. ANYWAY, as I said my 5 month old kitten has an upper respiratory infection that he is now on his 2nd round of antibiotics to treat so I took him to the vet and the infection has irritated his eyes so the vet prescribed an antibiotic ointment for them. She offered to give it to me at the vets office but it was going to cost $40 for a tube and I happen to remember from raising livestock in high school that you can get this ointment over the counter at feed stores so I asked if that would be as good and she said it was exactly the same stuff just without the markup so it was only $18. So I went to the feed store this morning to pick up the ointment and the guy at the register was super cowboy hot! I had my little dog with me, which I was actually kicking myself for because my big dog is a way better pick up on cowboys dog but alas, and I was looking at the brands of dog food they sell there because both of my dogs have allergies so I have to feed something that is both beet pulp and corn free. So super hot cowboy guy comes over and asks if I need anything then pets and talks to my dog, which was really cute. I tell him I am looking for a food I can feed to a dog that is 10 lbs and allergic to corn AND a dog that is 130 lbs and allergic to beet pulp.

He asks me for my number for a rewards program they do then asks me if he can keep the number for himself and if we can go out sometime. I politely told him that I was flattered but that I have a boyfriend, probably blushed 15 shades of red, finished paying for my stuff and left feeling like a million bucks. The best part is I'm sick, I wasn't wearing any makeup, and I was wearing jeans a full size too big for me so they are baggy and really unflattering. I was so freaking happy. Im just not the type of girl who gets hit on in regular everyday situations.

So this was just such a huge boost to the ego..

Anyway, now that I have written a novel I will let you all go with a have a good night and a happy Monday. Stay strong Flirts!..

I'm stuck and frustrated! I was really good this weekend, and worked out friday, saturday and sunday (really the only days I can work out because of my work schedule), and NOTHING on the scale!!!!! I wanted to make my 40 pound mini-goal this week, but I am 4 pounds away. Of course, the week is just beginning. I just need support staying OP. I've been bouncing around this weight for a week, which usually means I will get a nice scale change soon. I just want it now!.

OK, vented and feeling better. I am tryiing to work on toning up my arms and back, and have started working with light weights. I was cleaning out some boxes in my garage this weekend and found some resistance bands. I'm thinking I could do some arm exercises a couple evenings after I get home from work. I really don't have time for a regular workout because I get home about an hour before I try to go to bed, but 10 or 15 minutes of working with the resistance bands shouldn't keep me awake, and should help with the saggy stuff that's happening to my upper arms!..

The weight loss gods have smiled upon me today! Down to 264.8! Today felt awesome, but I have been starving. I went ahead and split my L&G and had half for lunch. I also had a serving of mixed nuts to try to get through. I don't know what's going on. I think it's because I'm in my office at work today instead of helping guests so I don't put off eating like I usually do..

I have also lost a total of 16.5 inches since starting my diet. Mostly in my waist, bust, and hips. A little in my upper thighs but none at all what so ever in my upper arms which is starting to become a little frustrating. I think it's time to buy some light weights and start doing some bicep and tricep curls a few times a week..

Well I suppose I will finish work now. I think this weekend might be a good weekend to hit the goodwill and see if I can come up with something for clothes since I am in between the sizes I have in my closet so my options are frumpy or scandolus neither of which work well for work. I just can't stand the thought of spending a ton of money on new stuff that I won't be able to wear in 2 months so I am going to embrace my inner thrift store shopper and try it out...

Glad everyone is liking the new thread!!!.

Andrea:.

Shout out to you Lady...thanks for being my buddy!.

Julie.

: Girlfriend you ROCK! Congrats on those 260's and your pants size is awesome. I'm a long way from you in that department!.

Liddell:.

The weight loss Gods are smiling on you honey, because you are staying on plan...you keep that up please...and don't allow life to derail you! I'm thinking good thoughts for your kitty! And good job...Flirting at the Vet!!! You are on the right thread here!.

KHatlaw.

: The scale has been very generous to me for the last 5 weeks, but I stalled out on my Sat WI with only .5 lbs loss for the week, so I understand your frustration. I've been averaging 3.5 so it was a psychological blow for me I had to work though. This isn't and can't totally be about the scale, because the scale doesn't always tell the true whole story. So, you just keep your head in the right place and keep doing the right things like your water, and eating on plan and moving your body...and your dang scale and my dang scale will eventually take care of itself..

<laughing> This was soooo the worst Monday...they totally overbooked me and I had to drive everywhere to Timbuktoo and back again. However, at least it didn't rain on me to further slow me down. I have hella paperwork to do...will be up into the night to finish. I told them they needed to be nice to me tomorrow so I can get caught up, but I can never count on that. Good thing is I totally have job security! So despite the stress, I'm perfectly on plan including all my water and coming here to this thread was my first diversion of the day....ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh! Feels good to chilax for a moment. I'm planning an omelet dish for dinner...quick and easy.

Last night I made the best porkloin in my anniversary gifted Nu-wave oven. I LOVE THIS THING!!! Everything turns out so incredibly tender and I use no oil...just a little PAM to get things to brown...awesome...and worth every penny!!!.

Ciao** Bellas...Keep Flirtin'!!!..

Good morning flirts!.

I have to say, I'm getting my butt kicked by this time change. A few more days and I will be totally adjusted, but I'm having a hard time getting to sleep on time so that I'll wake up with a full nights rest..

Other than the time change everything is great. I have started giving myself mini pedicures so my feet will look as cute as the rest of me for summer. It's kind of a nice bit of me time. I'm also planning on going to the boyfriends house this weekend which will be wonderful since I didn't see him last weekend. I told him that my goal is to stay 100% OP all weekend no exceptions and he is to kick my a** if I try to do otherwise. He's great at asking me if something is or isn't on my diet, too bad for him my reaction is usually to shut down and get pissy.

I can't help but love a man who is patient enough to put up with me and my more than quirky traits..

I have also decided to weigh daily for the rest of the week. Last week I was doing little check ins and it really helped to motivate me. I'll try the daily weigh for now and track my progress. My weekly weigh in will still be the official number, but I think it helps me to know where I start every day..

Well ladies, I hope you are having a wonderful week so far. Happy Tuesday!..

Eeek! Good luck, that would be super difficult. There is nothing worse than sitting at a table of people eating "real" food while you eat pudding. Now might be a good time to try out some of those recipes. I feel more satisfied around other foods when I'm having a slice of medifast cheesecake vs just another pudding or bar. I've only played with the desserts so I don't know how the other foods come out, but I wish you the best of luck. You know you can do it. You're amazing at this...

I did have one brief moment of panic the other morning when I was on the scale it was several pounds higher than I expected. Then I felt something soft brush my ankle my new kitten had joined me on the scale! She was just standing behind me, with her front paws on the scale. Bad kitty!..

But, this was soooo the worst Tuesday! It was only natural that it followed my Monday, and despite the promise yesterday they were not nice to me today...downright evil in fact!.

Anyway, I am done with it and I can relax on my Wed OFF!.

That's what ya gotta do right, shake of the bad stuff so you can let the positive stuff in!.

I love my WEDs off and am blessed that we can afford for me to have a 4 day work week. It allows me to take better care of myself and my family...especially since most of my work days are really long....

I had the most delicious Salmon in the nu-wave oven tonight. I usually don't care much for fish, but this turned out really good. I might start eating more fish. Yeah for Fish! Yeah for me!.

I'm on plan dear friends. There is NO-thing that will deter me from getting to my goal..

It doesn't matter how long it takes or what the scale says along the way..

I have a plan..

I'm sticking to it..

I'm in control.

..

I am getting more healthy everyday I do this plan. Both my BP and heartrate are way down (to the point I was feeling really tired) so I adjusted my BP meds in half on Sunday and will continue to monitor myself (so far so good and I feel a little better). I'm a nurse, so I feel comfortable doing this. Getting off my multiple medications is one of my big goals so this is real progress in the right direction...I thought I'd share that with y'all..

Rest well!.

Because I insist on being a difficult woman to keep happy!.

No not really, it's more that he's not good with compliments therefore I have a harder time taking criticism from him. That sounds worse than it actually is because he rarely criticizes, but for example, he never once commented on the way I looked with make-up on until about a year into our relationship when my rosacea flared so I changed to a more full coverage make-up because I felt really uncomfortable. He was then very quick to tell me how much he didn't like the new make-up so I met him halfway which was apparently fine because I haven't heard anything one way or the other since. The diet is the same way, he doesn't say a freaking thing about what I eat, how I look, etc, but the minute I stray he has a comment to make. I finally told him why this upsets me and he's trying to be better about the compliments side of things which in turn makes it easier to hear when he has something else to say...

Good morning lovely Flirts..

It's my Friday FINALLY! Still trying to decide for sure how I will be spending my weekend, but the plan at this moment is to spend tomorrow doing laundry and cleaning maybe a little shopping then heading to the boyfriend's until Sunday morning..

So as I said I have been weighing daily and today is the first day that has kicked me in the butt. Yesterday I was down to 263.0 which was awesome but this morning I'm up to 264.4. I have been 100% OP so that's not the cause for the weight gain. Honestly I think it's because I had a huge dinner last night. I went with the griller crumbles instead of the fish I usually have. I love the crumbles, but a serving is like 2 cups which is a lot when you put it in something.

Everything was 100% OP and measured correctly, but it was just such a massive volume of food. I wont worry about it today and if I haven't gone down by tomorrow then I'll start to be concerned. Plus I have to admit, I wasn't careful with my salt at all so that could be part too..

I'm so happy to be back in the saddle with this. I feel so much better and as of right now I'm only 13-14.4 (depending on the day) pounds away from what I weighed my senior year of high school. Of course I was chubby my junior and senior year, but it's still kind of super exciting to see a number like that again..

I hope everyone is haveing a wonderful day!..

Thanks! I find that as of right now it's more inspirational than anything. I can justify last nights gain because I know my sodium level was through the roof. I added salt to dinner and had 2 diet sodas which are calorie free, but full of sodium. It's just not something that I watch closely even though I should. I know I was OP and that's really all that matters right? Today I'm going to tone things down a bit with a nice fish and veggie dinner. I've only been doing the daily weigh thing for 4 days and so far I've liked it, but only time will tell.

I found it kind of interesting more than anything. I'm such a nerd...

Good morning ladies! Well, almost good afternoon I guess..

I finally had a minute to sit down and think of something other than work and taking care of my sister and everything else crazy that is going on in my life. I just finished a yummy salad that one of my other sisters brought me for lunch and now I'm full and happy..

I'm happy to see that everyone did well over the weekend and was either able to stay on plan or able to pull themselves up and hop back on the wagon. That's what's important right? I stayed very true to plan all weekend which was great, but I gained a pound which I was kind of frustrated with until I realized I should be starting my TOM any day now. I would say next Monday since that is when I should start, but this diet has my cycle so freaking screwed up that it does what it wants now no matter when I'm suppose to go off my BC. Anyway, this made me feel better because I'm totally that girl who will gain 5 lbs in water weight right before and then lose it by the end so only seeing the scale go up a pound right before is an improvement. Sorry for the TMI..

So I am still doing my best to weigh daily, but it's proving to be difficult on the weekends when I'm usually not home. Heck for the past 2 months I've spent my weekends in a hotel so it's not even a place I can leave a second scale. I've decided I need a small travel size scale. I wonder if they even make those. If so I want one! If not then someone should invent it. Time to google..

Have a great day flirts!..

Hello Ladies!.

Sorry for being a no show again. I've got another cold, but this one was complete with fever, body aches, and chills. Not good at all. I can't believe that I had just finally started to feel better from my last cold and this hit me. I guess that's the price you pay when you come into contact with 100 people a day and live with a 6 year old; still I've always felt that I am sick more often than the average bear. The good news is that with Emergen-c I have managed to kick it enough that I feel up to going to Portland this weekend for 3 days.

I'm so happy to hear everyone is doing so well. Julie and KHatlaw way to freaking go! I'm so proud of you guys. I'm also kicking my own a** because I know if I stick with this like I should I could do just as well instead of being stuck in the 260's for all eternity..

I have started writing myself weekly goals. Some of them are health and fitness related like walk 3x's this week, but some of them are just crap I've been wanting to do but keep putting off like rearrange my room, paint, and hang up some pictures. I was going to start the weekly goals Tuesday, but I was starting to feel crummy so I went to bed at 5:30 hoping to sleep it off and woke up the next morning feeling even worse. I've pretty much come home from work every day this week and gone right to bed. So I have next weeks goals already written out and I will start working on them Tuesday. I have a busy life, but I have to start doing a few things for me every once in awhile or I will just go insane.

Well ladies, I hope you all have a wonderful weekend. I might not be back until Tuesday so I'll talk to you then...

Hello folks:.

I am feeling super discouraged today. The reason being, my conversation with my mom last night. I wrote about it in todays blog. She is the most negative person I know; not because of some reasonable thing but because of her own insecurities. I have come to the conclusion that she is jealous of my weight loss, not only because I am able to do more physically, but also because my husband is super supportive. Whenever mom tried to lose weight dad always accused her of cheating on him or trying to be better than everyone else.

I think I am gonna go to bed hopefully I will wake up feeling better...

I want to thank you all for your kind words of encouragement yesterday when I was feeling really down. You came through for me in a huge way. I'm happy to report that I am feeling lots better. My hubby and I went and walked around downtown then went into a boutique where I bought a motivation dress and a bathing suit that fits me well but is just snug enough to last half of the summer, hopefully. I am thrilled that it is another size smaller! It just blows my mind that three months ago I was a size 28/30 and am now a th 16/18! Where did the rest of me go?!..

Try setting your kitchen timer for 15 minutes and do what you can. When the timer rings, stop! So what if you don't hang all your pictures at one time, or don't completely rearrange your room? Do 15 minutes, every day, and it will eventually get done. Of course this doesn't work so well with painting...but you can wash walls 15 minutes at a time, tape things off...then paint. This is the way I do my housework. 15 minutes at a time, focusing on one room for a week or so. It isn't perfect, but it's better than it was, and will keep getting better as I go along/..

Nothing new going on here, just sitting on my newly boney buns. I'm at work and it's naptime. I'm thinking, "I hope my chicken and wild rice soup has had enough time to soak." Because there are few things worse tasting than hard chicken and peas. There, I've checked in for the day...

Glad to see you!.

Indeed those soups are a lot better when they soak! My favorite is the chicken noodle. It gets really creamy with sitting. It's awful in the microwave! I find if I pour hot water in a thermos and let it warm up, then put my soup in and pour hot water and let it sit for a few hours, it is ready to eat in my thermos later on for my lunch or mid-morning snack and still hot!.

Hello Flirts. Happy to see everyone doing well. I decided to sit down and write because I am having a serious reaction to the can of diet soda I had 2 hours ago and for some reason it is giving me really bad jitters today. I have to do something or I'll go crazy. I have no idea what's bringing this on since I have caffeine on a really regular basis. I didn't have any yesterday because I was still feeling sick so I was drinking water instead, but geeze this is crazy..

Anyway, I tried the tomato soup today for the first time and I have to say, I'm impressed. I mean it's kind of hard to mess up tomato soup, but this was actually pretty good. I think I'll order more next month. I still made it 2 hours before lunch so that it had time to fully saturate all the little tomato dust particles. I just used about 1/2 C hot water and stirred then when lunch time came around I added another 1/2 C to my tomato paste and it was really good. Still needed salt and pepper, but not very much at all.

Other than that everything is going well on this front. Boyfriend and I had a long conversation this weekend about our future and our families and I brought up that the way I got my mom to go on this diet with me is by reminding her that her youngest daughter only has 1 parent left and that she, my mom, should be taking better care of herself or I might end up being the one who raises my sister. That seemed to make something click for him and he is now thinking about going on a diet and trying to live healthier too. Up until now he's basically been of the mindset that he doesn't drink, smoke/chew (anymore), or do drugs so he'll live longer than most of his peers. He never thought that consuming 2000 calories or more at breakfast was an issue. Hes always been overweight, but hes just a big guy in general so hes never seemed out of proportion.

I doubt that something will be Medifast, but it's a start in the right direction..

Well ladies, I hope you are all having a wonderful week. Its almost half over for some of us so thats always nice. Have a great day!..

Hey Liddel,.

That's good you are getting more support around you!.

I think it's funny you like the tomato soup. It's my most hated thing on MF. So, yup...everone's taste buds are surely different. I've been mixing the remainder of mine with chili or the beef stew and splitting that into two meals to make it more palatable..

My new order is much more simple with mostly shakes and I like the pudding made into a shake and I like the hot chocolate mixed with coffee in the AM for a mocha..

Take care and thanks for checking in!.

XO..

Hi ya'll,.

It's been a long time since I posted. I've been meandering a bit, but this week, I'm back on plan so far. I made a goal board and am setting weekly goals. I was down 35 pounds total this morning (for 3 1/2 months - not great by some standards, but fabuous by others!) I've just had to decide that I didn't get this way overnight. I got to this point by a lifetime of bad eating choices and those aren't going to change overnight. And I've finally figured out that if I feel the need to go off plan, I don't have to sabotage a whole day's eating.

And it usually doesn't impact my results too drastically. I know there are hardcore MF'ers out there who would disagree and shame me, but honestly, if I get to the end of this year having lost only 35 pounds and keeping it off, I'm light years ahead of where I was last year and the year before (and the year before....)..

That said, I'm heading into goal-ville hardcore. My mom just bought me a Kindle, but I told her I can't have it until I reach 50 pounds lost. Now I'm kind of annoyed, though, because I really want it! And for staying on plan this week (I gotta make it through tomorrow), I get to start reading a new book I've been dying to read. Those little rewards are just a nice extra motivation..

Hope you all are doing well. Work is crazy busy (I'm a teacher, so if it's busy at work, it's also busy at home with the stuff I have to grade), but I'm going to try to check in a minimum of a couple of times a week..

Go enjoy some sun if you have a gorgeous day like we do here in Texas!.

Good to see you Beth and I'm so glad you are working on getting your head in the right place. Those little rewards and incentives are nice to keep you focused and staying on goal. Good for you for treating yourself special!.

We all have to make our own choices and only we are responsible for the consequences of our actions. You have to decide what is right for you in your own time. Shame to anyone who shames you!.

As for me, I'm working hard to be on of those "hard core MF" because the sooner I get the weight off the sooner I will reap the benefits of a more healthy and better me, and for myself...I deserve that! I've played games in my head for a long time about the reality of effect of my weight on my health. This is my "Aha" moment time in my life and it's different than all of my other attempts to lose weight. For certain, I am keenly aware that at goal the process of keeping the weight off and keeping my head "real" will continue and I have no illusions about that..

I hope you stop by!.

Heya Flirts! Just wanted to stop by and say hello. Glad to see everyone seems to be doing well! Things have been so crazy around here - between work and training, I just fall over asleep when I get home. I am going to take a couple days off soon and just have a spa weekend - goodness knows my muscles need it! Next week is my next weigh in, so wish me luck! As long as the body fat % is going down and inches are being lost, I'll be fine. Eventually all the extra chub will be gone or converted to muscle..

I've come to realize that my path is teaching me patience, which is something I need as I never seem to have it. I confess though, I'd love for the fat burn to be a bit more than it is, but que sera sera. I can only do my best! Speaking of which, I managed to run the equivalent of a 5K race today - awesome! Never been able to do that before - never run that far before. I am stoked - one thing I love about fitness is that no matter what happens on the scale, each week my exercise gives me new personal records..

Have a great weekend!.

I took last week off from work with plans to go to the gym more, get my garage cleared out, and work on my dissertation. So, I emptied about a third of the garage boxes and got rid of a bunch of clothes, but it still needs work. I got most of the edits done on my first chapter of my dissertation and pulled some more research articles to address points my chair wanted my to expand on - but haven't read them all or finished. I didn't go to the gym, and I went off plan, a lot. Mostly I slept, hung out with family and read trashy books. I don't feel TOO guilty about that, although I am disappointed that I did not get further on my dissertation.

I think that I was too ambitious in my plans and didn't build in enough "down" time..

So I got on the scales sunday and was up 5 pounds but got back on the program. I'm half a pound over my 40 pound mini-goal, but I'm on plan and that should come off this week. I want to really kick things in gear because I'm meeting a friend in Vegas in 2 weeks and I know I will not be perfectly on plan while I am there. I will take my shakes and bars, I've checked out the exercise facilities at the hotel, but I am going to eat good food while I'm there. I will just focus on portions, fats, and staying away from junk and desserts. I will make the healthiest choices and not punish myself.

And really, this is changing my life, not just a diet, so two days of eating in the real world is not a bad thing. I'm driving out and back (about 8 hours each way), so I will be on plan then...

Just checking in. Totally had a wonderful omg moment. Stood up to a bully and didn't back down. Totally empowering and energizing. Sometimes self-respect means that you gave to stand up for yourself. I know there will be a backlash, there always is.

What a great feeling! If you want to read about out, check out my blog. Happy mfing!..

Hey Kate: Have a great time in Vegas!.

Hey Julie: Yeah for empowerment and for your 70 lb mark!.

It's been super busy for me of late. I've managed to stay OP through it all and the scale is rewarding me for due diligence. I'm headed to Texas next week for our daughter's wedding. I intend to stay on plan through the event...have made too much progress to do anything else..

Hold good thoughts for me!.

Hi Flirts-.

It's been awhile since I've been around. I am having a hard time... a hard time just engaging. The first 8 weeks I couldn't wait to log in, track my meals and exercise, read about everyone's progress and post about mine..

Now I feel lost and questioning my ability to succeed. This weekend I tried to determine why I can't seem to make myself important enough to do this... with now answer..

I am going to try and make a concerted effort this week to get back on track..

Best,.

Andrea..
