Quick question... DOES THE Medifast Diet WORK? ABOTU HOW MUCH CAN I LOSE IN A MONTH? Thanks in advance for any answer or 2. Second question of mine... I was asking because currently I do and I was wondering what my doctor would do and how they would stop this bleeding! Also, I cant go on birth control and refuse that anyways, but any of you had this problem since being on mf? If so, what was the cause?. |

Yup, but... you might wanna make sure and wait for another person here to confirm my answer as I am not quite sure. Better yet, why don't you ask the Medifast guys because they can help better...

With PCOS (I think you said you have this), non-stop bleeding is not uncommon. I know more PCOS people with non-stop bleeding than no bleeding at all. I had an ultrasound to determine if there were fibroids or possible endo, but it came back within normal limits (WNL) and there wasn't a serious increase in pain to suggest more, so they just put me on birth control pills to regulate the bleeding. It worked fine took about 3 months to be on a cycle but the every day bleeding stopped quickly..
My sister had the same kind of stuff, only she had additional blood work done as well. Because she continued to have a lot of pain, she then had a procedure to check for endo outside the uterus and also ended up on Lupron for a while.. You do need to see the doctor, but try not to stress too much about what they'll say or do. At this point, with PCOS, it could be just hormones out of whack and not a big deal to fix. Stay strong and let us know what happens.. Emma.. |

Yeah, I would love to have this done too, but I have a tilted uterus and heard that it doesnt work usually on how they do it with the procedure, but once I lose all this weight ill have better options hopefully by then I shld be normal again...
Thnx for answering.. |

Im thinking thats it's with my hormones and that I have to get onto hormone therapy or something. But either way Im oing to finish all my soy products I have now and then start eating just the products that have whey in them!. So, since you said you been regulated is it the birth control doing that to ya? You still taking them?. Also, I am hypothyroid and my levels must be messed up since losing weight too, so many things fall under line! The joy of being a woman lol.. Also, I did have that sono done last yr and everything turned out ok! So, idk ! But ill be definitely getting that rechecked again!. Thanx for answering!.. |

Maybe TMI, but...I have been having the same problem, but it is (probably-per doctor) because of being overweight and not because of MF. I'm not ovulating at all, probably because of my weight. So I don't "really" have a period. Then the lining builds up and at some point it is too much and just starts "leaking" I guess would be a good word. Anyway...they gave me some progesterone (i think) pills, 10 of them. They stop the bleeding immediately and I have a "real" period 12 days after I'm done with them.
Hope that made sense... |

I took a higher-progesterone birth control pill (loestrin for a while, yasmin for a while) for about 5 years and it regulated my bleeding really well. I was in the middle of finding a doctor and ended up without an Rx, so I stopped taking them and it's been okay since then. I get a cycle somewhere between 17-30 days (mostly 21 or 28) and bleed for about 7-9 days. When I mentioned the recent shortening of the cycle (come on, 17 days), my doctor informed me I was lucky to be this regular with PCOS and I was 'that age' as if 38 is normally menopausal. I just rolled my eyes and figured I could deal with 17 days if I had to..
Good luck with the doctor. And if they say BCP will raise your blood pressure mine actually went down (hormones were better).... Emma.. |

Hey thanks for responding and well yes thats what happening to me! I know it's because of me being heavy as I had this problem on going for years and always got prescribed birth control pills and well I didnt want those anymore so I quit taking them lol..
So, not with me losing weight everything is just one hot mess! I think before my dr appt I'm going to buy that creame progesterone like you said you took, that should help too maybe but ill try anything at this point to get it to stop!.. |

Well arent you just the lucky one! I wish I could have it normal like that, but insteadim all outta whack lol. Also, id take 17 days over weeks and months!! haha!.. |

Hi,.
Please don't wait; you should check this out immediately. I started having some irregular spotting in March after not having a period for probably 6 months or more. The spotting would go on for a month, then stop for a couple of weeks, and then start and stop again. I had not had a gyno exam in over 3 years. I finally went in June. My pap was ok. She offered to do an endometrial biopsy (where they take out a piece of the lining of the uterus and have it tested). They diagnosed me with simple hyperplasia without atypia. This basically means that the lining in the uterus was thicker than it should be but that the cells are still normal. Thank God it was not cancer!. My clinician told me that it is not cancer but needed to be treated with progesterone for the next 3 months to induce a regular period. I am on 10 days of pills for 3 months. I start the 2nd round of pills in a couple of days. After the 3 months, I will have another biopsy done.. Please don't wait; I am thankful to God that the issue that I was having was caught early enough so that a simple treatment works... |
