Good post. I'm still thinking about my resolutions for 2009. I will also make some time to reflect on '08..
Some resolutions (I prefer saying "areas to pay attention to") for 2009:. * Improve/maintain healthy eating and excersize. * Manage finances, reduce/eliminate credit card debt. * Go to more museums. * Perform (I'm a juggler and close-up magician hobbyist). * Volunteer. * Clean out closets/basement/house. I may post a more definitive resolution list later.. Thanks,. Daniel.. |

Congrats Damon for getting back on track..
My resolution is to get fit and healthy. Simple as that.. ...and to run and finish a 10k.. Thanks Nutrisystem (circle R) Advanced ("TM" character)!!!. ... |

Great post Damon! You have been an inspiration and mentor since I started Nutrisystem back last January. You are a model of determination and "when you fall off the wagon - get up and get back on!".
My New Year resolutions start today. After a week of "what the heck - it's Christmas" craptastic eating I find myself well over goal weight again. How much? Don't know. I am not getting back on the scales until Jan 7, my one year Nutrisystem anniversary. But I'm back "on the wagon" today. I did discover that even after nearly a year of eating proper portions it doesn't take but a couple of meals to revert to old habits. I guess I will always be the same way with food as well. One buffet away from being 300 lbs +.. At least I have learned a lot of lessons in my Nutrisystem journey. One of them is if I stick to The Plan (even maintenance) I do well. If I don't, I don't do well.. We took down all the Christmas decoration this morning and threw away all the Christmas crap snack food we bought/made for guests (and helped them consume).. Good luck to all of us on the continuing weight loss adventure in 2009... |

What should I resolve to accomplish in 2009? Great question. I resolve to stay under 220# until my next physical (March 19). I resolve (with DR's permission) to drop to 185# by year end. I resolve to run a 5K. That should do it for me. Wish me luck...

1 Reach original goal of 190 and continue to 180..
2 Buy an exercise bike and actually use it daily to help get the body fat % down.. 3 Do at least one track school and a few open track days on the motorcycle.. 4 Get the full arm sleeve tattoo I've been planing for years started and finished by summer.. 5 Have another accident free year in the big truck at work... |
|
Very nice post!.
As for many I'm in the same boat with a few goals for this coming year:. *Lose a minimum 40 pounds of weight and 3 inches from waist. *Become more active with daily workout routines of 20 minutes or more. *Use proper eating habits when going out to eat. *Go back to school to begin MBA program by Fall.. |

Another way keeping last year's resolutions has benefited me is; I was at very high risk of having a heart attack or stroke with my semi-controlled blood pressure. I say semi- because I took 3 pills a day to keep it semi-stable. I also took a pill everyday, on purpose, to make my LFT's (Liver Function Tests) rise to unsafe levels. This pill was suppose to help my cholesterol, disrupting my liver function was a side effect..
Now that I've quit smoking and lost an entire 6th grader, I'm off all those drugs and my BP is a steady 120/80 (both at home and the doc's) and my cholestrol is back in the ok, but just a tiny bit high range now. Not too many guys with ^300#'s can say that. Just think how damn healthy I'll be by this time next year.. Some of the things y'all are listing gives me pause to think I may need to expand my items of resolute for 2009. But seems every time I attempt to add more physical activity, I get hurt. lol.. |

I really didn't make any for this year, but for 2009 I have a lot on my plate due to a recent life-changing event: Getting fired two weeks ago.
THE RESOLUTIONS:. Complete my journey to goal #2 of 200 lbs. Eliminate all unnecessary expenses. Turn my online shops into a steady source of income. Turn my acting and voiceover talent into a semi-steady source of income. Turn my design skills into a source of income. Grasp every paying opportunity that comes, no matter how small. Make the first year of my 40's one of pride, accomplishment and satisfaction. Oh - and more sex. Must get more sex in 2009...... |
|
I have but one resolution this year..
Lose the nasty pounds I put on I've the last 15 years. I'm setting a goal of 2.5 pounds a week through staying on the food plan and exercise. It's time to reverse the abuse I've put myself through. I'll be happy with w weight loss of 100 pounds by January 2010.. Good luck to everyone else!!. Oh yeah I also locked out the Food Channel on my TV... |
|
I resolve to get back on and stay on-program until hitting my goal before our annual August beach week vacation in '09. Said program includes continuing 4-5 vigourous gym workouts/week on top of the Nutrisystem eating plan..
I planned to deviate for a couple meals over the holidays, and that's fine, but I'm getting back on the horse now.. Gordon.. |
|
Nice going, Koko..
I'm going to buckle down, too, and resolve to reach my goal sometime before April 9... |

This is the first year that I will ever make a resolution to become a healthier and fitter me and know that I will stick to it. Why? Because thanks to many of you who post here on this board and kick butt when it needs to be kicked, I've already done it and will continue to do it in 2009..
Some things that I resolve to do in 2009:. 1. Continue to be healthy and fit by eating right, drinking my water and working out five days a week.. 2. I will add strength training to my exercise regime. (I am meeting with my trainer on Monday to set up my program!). 3. I really hate to run, but have resolved to fulfill one of my wife's dreams and that is to run in a 5K Turkey Trot with her on Thanksgiving Day 2009. Who knows? Maybe I will actually learn to like running!. I doubt it, but we'll see what an open mind does!. 4. Stay connected here for the support, butt kickings and encouragement that is found on this board!. 'Wishing everyone a prosperous and fulfilling 2009!.. |

Trout-man, Check out the Couch to 5K program on CoolRunnings.com. It is a logical way to build up without hurting yourself. I am in week 6 of the program and loving it. JT..

Great goals, Steve. I think you will see the 100 lbs gone quicker than a year though if you stick to the plan. Welcome to the community. I agree with you about locking out the Food Network on the TV. Rachael, Giada, and Sandra are all porn to the hardcore Nutrisystem people...

That's funny cause it's true! I too use sign language on occasion..
I changed it back... |

Lots of water, exercise at least 3 times a week (sex counts right!) and making the most of everyday by thinking positive, chosing healthy foods, and working and playing hard! If I manage that in 2009 I will be a happy happy woman!.

Well I've begun one of my resolutions. I stopped at the tattoo shop today and talked to the artist who's gonna do my sleeve/ partial cover-up. I gave her the low down on what I wanted, and she's gonna come up with some drawing for me. My first of several sittings will be Jan 17th..
I'll be sure to post pics of the progress as we go along... |

I'm not one to make specific "resolutions" but I plan to continue the changes that I started back in July 2008..
Since I decided then that I was depressed and I needed to make some positive changes in my life.. Beginning August 1st: I was able to lose 65 pounds (approx 40 to go to my original goal of 260, which seemed impossible then), visited the gym three times a week, changed to a better job and went back to school after 25 years away to try and finish off my incomplete degree.. I've had some ups and downs, but made progress in each area.. I plan to finish 2009 weighing less than 250, with 9 more college credits complete and being the top sales person at my new company.. And, I may do something athletic, just to prove that I can (ice skate, bike or backpack are on my radar, since 6 months ago those were pretty 100% out of the question for me.).. |
|
Can you please tell me how you got that chart on your signature?..

2008 was a miracle for me! My goal for 2009 is to continue maintaining the healthy lifestyle I began 1/14/2008, and which was the reason for the miracle...
