Hi Chunky Chic,.
My doc has been suggesting bariatric surgery for the last 4 years. I have diligently & faithfully went from one diet plan to another trying to to prove to her that I could do it without surgery - I managed to gain 4 pounds during a month of strict Weight Watchers. So I gave up & went to see the surgeon. You have to lose a specific % of body weight to shrink your liver for bariatric surgery. After reviewing my history, he gave me a 1000 calorie, very very low fat diet. While I didn't gain, I didn't lose. And losing mere ounces. That's when my daughter told me about Medifast. I've been on 16 wks now, have lost 51 pounds. I'm not hungry, I feel good, and it looks like I've found a solution that doesn't involve submitting to the knife. I am doing the on-line program. I don't think you need to be a part of a clinic, unless you need the face-to-face support. For me, the discussion boards keep me motivated & supported. I wish you well on this journey, it works!. I am one happy MFer.. |

I think you should have a chat with your doc, just order the food online and she can medically supervise you! It sounds like you have a great relationship with her, and if she's willing to consider surgery to help you, I'd bet she'd be willing to see you try MF! I'm pretty new about a month, and down 17 pounds (Literally, with a 100 more to go if I wanted to be a normal range). The only approach I've ever been successful on before was Atkins, but plateaued, got discouraged and slowly nibbled about half of the weight I'd lost back. This is much simpler to follow than I thought and beats the heck out of going under the knife!..

Hi!.
A friend introduced me to Medifast last October. As a diabetic, I diligently took it to my doctor. He had never heard of the program, but was willing to have me try it. After six months on the program, he asked more pointed questions about what I was doing and TOOK NOTES so he could share the information with others.. I do most of my stuff online. I do have a friend or two that work with me who help me stay on plan even when I don't want tothough to be honest the last two months have not been so great just going to show you need to keep up the good habits and hold yourself accountable no matter where you are on the ticker! I am a firm believer in experience being the best teacher. Mine tells me that transition and maintainance are going to be HARD once I reach goal.. I order online. I recieve my Medifast through the regular mail. I post as often as I can and have made some great friends here at this sitebut I also see my doctor regularly to keep an eye on my diabetes, high blood pressure, macular degeneration.....etc., etc. (To quote "the King and I"). This is an awesome plan. Determination and persistance are the keys.. Ciao!.. |

Hey Chick!.
ChewysMom and I are on the same discussion board frequently.(Diamonds in the rough). I'll say the same thing she does. You can absolutely do this online. I have a friend who has lost 130 lbs and is still losing. This program works if you let it. Follow the plan, visit the boards and chat rooms frequently. Be open to learning experiences. I recently went on vacation and gained 4 lbs in 10 days. RevelationI can eat 3 big meals and desert every day and lose weight. Really? I mean Seriously?. Chewy, you and I are all in healthcare. This program works shifts. It's portable and in my case discrete. Come on in girl. Grab your packets and let's do this thing!.. |

I am new to medifast too, in my 2nd week. I am ordering on line and I feel that all the support a person needs is right here, and it is 24/7!..

Hi Chic-.
I got a fabulous FREE health coach. She really helped me along the way. PM me and I can give you her info.. I am not a Medifast coach and not looking for any Medifast coach business. Just had someone wonderful in my corner who kept me well informed and gave me excellent pep talks as well as great information and Medifast food hints.. Alsotake a minute to read the Hopkins Studies. For me they clinched my getting on the program.. I wish you great success!.. |

I use the boards faithfully. They're wonderful and you really get to know people. You cheer each other own. You understand like no one else can. Find your group and join in. You become "family"! Good luck and hang in there!!..
