Hmm... I need to find out myself. I don't know what is the right answer to your question. I'll do some research and get back to you if I bump into an anything. You should email the people at Medifast as they probably can answer it..

You can do it! I was at 401 to start and have about 240-250 total to lose. That is the one benefit we have in this program....the weight flies off so fast!! Good luck.

Hey Jim.
Im so excited for you. I love the saying "losing wieght is hardbeing fat is hard..choose your hard". Althoughin my opinion this isnt that hard.. Best of luck...and please keep psoting... |
|
Being fat is hard, but not as hard as it will be on my wife and 6 year old daughter when I die in my 40's. My daughter already has memories of me this way and of how I haven't been able to play with her, and of my nosebleeds from hypertension..
What a ridiculous, wasteful and sinful way of life I have been living! Time for a BIG change.. Thanks for everyone's support here!. Jim H.. O'Fallon, IL.. |

Welcome to Medifast, Jim. You can do this! This program is super simple, but it is not always easy. Please come to the boards often for support, encouragement and the occasional kick in the pants as needed. Please know that you certainly are not alone in your struggle, regardless of how much you ultimately need to lose. I lost close to 200 pounds and have kept it off for just about 9 months now. I plan to keep it off for the rest of my life.
I hope you can get the support you need here, as well. You have a wonderful reason for wanting to lose the weight. When your will begins to flag (as it will from time to time) remember why you are doing this and keep fighting on.. Much success to you!.. |
|
Welcome to the boards, Jim! Keep posting and stick to the plan and you will be sucessful!!..
|
|
Welcome Jim! You can totally do this. Sounds like you are already off to a good start and have a good reason to make this plan work. Come to the boards often to post and to get support. I can't wait to see your progress!..

|
Just what I was going to say! I started at 402 and recently lost my first 50 pounds! The time has gone by quickly and I am amazed that I have lost 50 pounds so easily. You will have a few days that are much harder than others, but when you stay on point the feeling is so amazing! Best of luck to you!..

|
Welcome Jim! You have joined a wonderful group of dedicated and caring people who are here to support you and cheer you on. 500+ pounds is behind you and a healthy future is in front of you. If you follow the plan, you can not fail, the weight will come off. I'm cheering for you! Violet..

Whether you have fifty or three hundred pounds, it is truly one foot in front of the other...one pound at a time..
Keep posting...even on the bad days... |

Welcome Jim and congratulations on your success. I can so relate to you. I started Medifast topping the scales at 604 pounds, nearing 42 years old with a 12yo daughter who needed me. Medifast literally saved my life. You can do this Jim. I believe in changing your thinking in order to change your behaviors and your life forever.
At 604 pounds I did not have a life, I was merely existing doing only what was absolutely necessary to do.. As each day passes you will feel better and better. I still have a ways to go to be at a healthier weight and continue to work on it each and every day changing myself from the inside you. You can do it Jim!!!! You are worth it!!!! Mary.. |

My first time on MF, in 2008, I weighed over 500 pounds. I lost about 100 pounds that year but couldn't stick past 6 months and wandered away. I restarted in Feb 2010 at 435 with a goal of 160, so 276 pounds to go. As of last weekend, I've lost 150 pounds so far and am at 285.4. You can do this. Believe me, look at me.
It will seem long sometimes and it will seem hard sometimes, but take it one day at a time. Every day is one day where you have the choice to accept where you are or change your life for the better.. I wish you the best of luck here. Let me know if I can help you.... Emma.. |
|
Congratulations Emma on your success, that is wonderful. You are doing fantastic and yes it can be done one day, one meal and one thought at a time. Keep up the great work. Mary..

Welcome Jim! When I began this program last Aug I weighed 373 pounds. So far I have lost 150 pounds. This program works when you follow it. Just remember to take 1 day at a time- eat every 2 to 3 hours and believe you succeed. Believing is the first step to reaching your goals! Good luck on your journey!..

Thank you, everyone for your encouraging words. It is great to know that I am not alone in this struggle, and that many have gone down the road before me. I have a wonderful supporting family, but this is really icing on the cake, so to speak!.
As of yesterday, I'm down 15 pounds since starting two weeks ago. I'd say Medifast is pretty darned effective, compared to the waffling I was doing on another plan.. I am really enjoying the flexibility of being able to weave pieces of lean and green in with the 5 Medifast snacks. It really helped me get through the Thanksgiving Holiday.. I'll keep you all posted.. God Bless,. Jim H.. O'Fallon, IL.. |
