Good question... I dunno what is the answer to that question. I'll do some poking around and get back to you if I bump into an anything. You should email the people at Nutrisystem as they probably can answer it..

Great comments Mike, especially about choosing to live a healthier lifestyle! That's what it's all about!.
I started this journey weighing once a week, but became a daily "weigher" about two months in. Weighing daily has really helped me tune in, if you will, to what is going on in my body. I've found that I seem to lose weight the same part of each week. I would imagine it has to do with my gym schedule, I'm not sure.. The other thing daily weighing has shown me is how adding foods in will affect me. I love banana peppers and was really looking forward to putting some on my salad a few weeks ago. Now, while jalapeno peppers are unlimited, banana peppers are not, but hey a hot pepper is a hot pepper.....or not so much! I bought a jar, not paying attention to the stats and put a healthy. Amount on my salad one evening. I woke up the next morning to the tune of 2+ pounds gained. I knew there was no way I gained two pounds! When I checked the jar, the sodium was out of this world and I had held on to over two pounds of water! I gave the banana peppers to a friend and am enjoying banana pepperless salads again! I am figuring daily weighing will come in handy for me when it comes time for maintenance.. Congrats on the losses too Mike I appreciate your posts!.. |

I was a daily weigher while I was on program for pretty much the same reasons as Mike is. Now I weigh 2-4 times a week just to make sure that I'm staying where I need to be...

Hey Mike,.
I want to thank you for posting this. I also weigh every day... I think the topic of "What to you do differently everyday since on NS?" should be explored further and so I will start a new thread to hear from others about how they think differently or what they do differently since they started the plan. Hopefully we can all learn something.. Taking control of what and how much goes into my mouth is only one thing that has to be done. Weighing is but another avenue to measure ourselves against a goal set. Progress is a wonderful thing but getting there and the process IS everything. I'm sure to many others as well.. I just remember when I used to eat anything and as much of anything as I wanted. I never weighed myself. Never! gaining a pound here and a pound there was an unconscious process as much as what went into my mouth. I am realizing that changing into a fit person is not just about being at a goal weight. Its about becoming a different thinking person.. Here is but a small list of new things that I do in becoming that "fit" guy:. 1. weigh everyday. 2. measure once a week. 3. carry a water bottle with me everywhere I go. 4. eat something on plan every hour throughout the day. 5. read success stories of people on NS. 6. exercise 3-4 days a week. 7. read about new exercise routines and equipment. 8. Look at myself in the mirror. 9. Sit ups (with the ab rocket) and push ups (with the perfect pushups). Weighing everyday is a ritual that I can't give up right now as it helps me stay true to myself. There will come a day where I will weight myself less and perhaps that is when goal is reached. I'm not sure but I look forward to getting there.. Ben.. |

I too am a scale *****. I've even weighed before and after a "soft serve movement" (thanx Michael for the term). Yes, I have indisputable qualitative evidence that shows me beyond a shadow of a doubt that I am doing good, But I like that quantitative evidence as well in the form of moving that counter-weight to the left. I love my scale so much I carry a pic of around with me (not really). Here is my baby......

Hey Damon,.
Sounds to me like you may develop separation anxiety disorder after you lose all the weight. Perhaps this will help... I'm not referring to the bullet lol. Http://www.sportsmansguide.com/net/cb/cb.aspx?a=394769.. |

Whatever works for you is great. For me, when I am on a signifiant diet like Nutrisystem if I weighed myself every day I would get frustrated and too often give up if the scale did not go down every day (or 2 at most). So weighing myself once a week at most was a key to reaching my goal on plan..
Now that I am on maintenance I weigh myself every day (sometimes more than once a day) to catch myself whenever I may get off track and rededicate myself to not letting that add up before renewing my maintenance focus... |

Like I said - it is not the weight loss/gain/no movement that makes me weigh every morning. It is almost like pinching myself every day to make sure this is real..
If I were worried about the daily ups and downs, I could see myself going crazy over the scale, but sometimes I just don't believe it is real. The scale proves to me it is... |

I'm an "every day" weigher myself. I don't really put any credence in the daily numbers though since they can fluctuate 1-3 lbs. I just have one "official" day and that's how I judge my progress. I weigh daily just to see if something I did or didn't do made a difference...
