The holidays are fast approaching and our resolve needs to be steadfast. Challenges to our commitment will be rampant. Let's stick together! With the help of the Internet, these long distance friendships will help us get through the tough times ahead..

Remember, though, it only works when we get on here and talk to each other!.

Take it from me, I know..

I hope I am forgiven for my missing so much time..

I have been struggling with slow computer connnections, downed servers, and lack of time. LOL.

Chime in Flirts! Is everyone here?.

Ciao,..

Good evening Flirts!.

Just stopping by to say hello - it was a long day and tonight I have a broadcast so it'll be even longer. Ahhhh well, such is life. Hope everyone is doing well! I am just going to have a bath after this long day in preparation for the evening. These days I am always on the go, or so it seems. I cannot help it. I have come to the conclusion that "Movement is life" and so now I move in as many ways as possible.

To think that I could be there in 10-12 weeks is nothing short of miraculous. But to be fair, it has been a hard won miracle of discipline and dedication. But come spring, oh yes, I will fly.. I am almost ready, I can feel it. Everyday my strength and joy grows and my horizons broaden..

My trainer has started me on new routines too - mixing up everything day to day so I have a well-rounded balance. He is now teaching me anatomy too - of the muscles, how they work, and what they do. He wants me to know exactly what I am working, and what it does. He is preparing me for the time when he leaves - so that I will be able to do it on my own. His love and support give me hope each day. What a blessing, truly..

UKB:.

So glad you are well and back again - we have missed you. Take care of yourself, and as always, if there is any way I can support you, please let me know!.

Kaitlin:.

Thanks so much for the kind words. As always, you are so positive and supportive, it really keeps my head in the game..

Teresa, Sony, Kiyomi San, Mary - Hope you ladies are all well!.

Good morning,.

Flirts.

!.

I seem to be getting back into the groove..

I was finally able to find and try some spaghetti squash. Wow! To have something that approximates spaghetti after a year of no pasta (without guilt) was fantastic. I would highly recommend it to anyone who hasn't tried it yet. It was worth the hour baking, etc. I truly enjoyed it as both a "rice" part of a meal, and a "pasta" side..

My treadmill and I are becoming reacquainted as I go back and re-watch Star Gate 1 season 1. It is definitely worth going back and re-living those episodes as I try and reconcile the new Stargate Universe and it's intrigues. Somehow, that whole power struggle thing was just not as prevalent in the first series. Universe is just not the same. I really don't think it will last ten seasons, somehow. *rueful grin*.

It's been a while. Does anyone remember how to make the links between the two threads? Just so we can flip back and forth with ease?.

Mary.

Used to do that for us......

Hinata.

? A broadcast?! I really need to get caught back up!.

Kaitlyn.

So glad you are back! I missed you, too..

Time for the treadmill. Catch you later,..

Wednesday morning in the UK, Flirts, and I have just finished another 2.5 miles on the treadmill. Just a bit sweaty, LOL, but I feel better for having done it..

Got the news yesterday that a teacher in Germany won the award I was put up for. In a way I am relieved because it means the stress and wait is over. Now perhaps I can get back on track to a new healthy me! My optimism is always up in the AM..

I was a little sad that I didn't win, but my friends and associates here in the UK have been very supportive. Will I do it again? NOT likely! LOL It's a lot of work that I wouldn't wish on anyone. Gravy what a mess! I am looking forward to the trip to DC though. I may get to meet my new DIL there......

Time to go and get ready for the day! Ciao, my friends,..

Good morning Flirts!.

Just stopping in to say hello before I head out to the gym! I'm still trying to get the hang of doing body curls. This is where you lay on your back and try to pull your knees up to your shoulders just using your abdominal muscles! Suffice it to say it is challenging for me, but at least I can get my lower body off the ground a bit now. Core strength remains my biggest fitness challenge, but it's coming along and my balance is definitely improving. Slow and steady will get me where I want to be right? Just have to remember it is only 10-12 more weeks to goal so I must focus!.

As for recent emotional issues, I am starting to heal from those too but the results are slow going. I am still not sure what is going on with the whole date thing, but the more I fret over it, the worse it feels. That said, my heart is mending I think, and in time I am sure we will talk again. For now, I am relying on good friends to get support -that and the gym - these things are getting me through and I am so grateful for that. This is another lesson I have to learn I suppose, and life will find a way to throw them at you when you least expect it. One person can break your heart, but there are a dozen more who will help you put it back together..

Elaine:.

So glad to see you back and getting on a good path. Sorry to hear about your mother's illness and the effect it has had on you. Must be emotionally and physically taxing - I hope she gets well soon. And that you get well soon - sounds like you are on a good path to doing just that.

UKB:.

Sorry you didn't win the.

Fficial" award, but you are our Teacher of the Year for what that matters! Glad to hear you are back exercising too - it will make you feel better! And hope your trip to DC goes well and that you get to meet your new daughter-in-law. That must be nervewracking, but you are persevering like a champ!.

Kaitlin.

: Hello diet twin! Hope all is well in your world and the new addition of fitness is going well. Remember, success comes in baby steps, so keep pressing onward and downward - you will get there quicker than you imagine!.

Kiyomi San.

,.

Teresa.

: Shouting out a hello! Hope you ladies are well and having a great OYP week. Looking forward to hearing from you again!.

Take care,.

Hello flirts, sorry for MIA for so long actually I was not feeling *myself* tom hit hard and lasted a lil over a week with the hardest pms'ing ever and amidst all that I slipped off and went offplan!!!! Offplan meaning I didn't cause any major damage to myself, lol, I was having offplan soups, wholegrain lowcarb sandwiches etc., but still it's offplan!!! Anyway on top of all this trauma I still did manage to hold on to my weight maintaining at 162-163, I didn't gain any weight though and i'm happy about it!!!.

So glad to see you.

UK.

And happy to see you on moving again!!!.

Hinata.

, woohoo....a big HUG and congratulations to you my friend!! You are one solid trooper! How does 160's feel though???.

Glad and happy to see few other faces, sorry I can't go into personals but I promise to be back with a rollcall later, luv you all!!!..

That clock is just ticking away! I have five minutes before I MUST be on the treadmill, lol, and shall do my best to say a few positive things for.

Kaitlyn.

And.

Hinata.

..

Thursday, and the last day of the quarter for my students, has arrived! We are starting a new project today which will encompass an alternative test. Rather than a more formal sit down and multiple choice, essay type thing, the students will create their own postcards of various countries in South America using the information they have gleaned from the reading to write a message on the back of the card to a friend or relative. The hope is that they will be able to do this well. We shall see (we being my student teacher and I).

Thank you for the nice aside about ToY,.

Hinata.

I haven't let what others think of my teaching affect me much up to this contest. Putting it out in the public arena was new for me. I like it better when I just concentrate on my students and do the best that I can for each of them. sigh. I really would like it all to be over soon. Between working with college students wanting to be teachers and this darn award, I feel like I haven't given my students my best this year.

Okay, time to get moving,.

Kaitlyn.

! I love being on the treadmill watching SG1 kick behind! LOL It is going to be a good day..

Sony.

, glad you are back (having TOM issues myself these days) T.

So...I had this long post, and it never posted up here...and there is no way I can re-create it..

The short version:.

The typhoon warnings are officially gone, now we have beautiful weather and it's just the right amount of "cool" to enjoy going on my walk/jogs up and down these hills..

My weight stalled again, then went up (TOM I think is the reason) and is starting to go back down to where my ticker says I am! NSV, my TOM is becoming regular, which it never has been unless I had birth control to "make" it regular, I attribute the regular-ness to losing just this little bit of weight..

The wedding date (for my friend) is set for Mid-June. I'm back in the frame of mind that if I shoot for at least 10 pounds a month, then I'll be not only near goal, but ready to take on the challenge of standing up in front of a lot of people in a short dress. Good thing is, I'm ordering the dress in a size 14, and just in case I'm smaller than that, I can get it sized down to fit me perfectly. Idealistically, I'd like to be in a size 10 or 12 by then. The dress seems to be good for me, it'll look good on my body type, just as long as I work out my arms (to have no jigglies there lol). Here is a link:.

What else...man it's hard to recreate a post!.

Thanks to everyone for starting out November on a good foot! I loved reading all the posts that I have missed out on the past couple of days..

On another note, I just drank a "Strawberry Lemonade" calorie burn/caffeinated thing. I feel kinda...energized! I haven't had caffeine in so long, I forgot how it feels!..

Good morning Flirts!.

Just back from the gym, but it was a different type of experience today. Today my trainer and I just talked about everything going on in our lives. So blessed to have a safe place where I can vent, and be honest about how I am feeling about things. And at the end, he just gave me this huge, long amazing hug - the kind of hug that is good for the soul. Dang I will miss him when he leaves!.

UKB: Glad to hear that you are back on your game - awesome news! Hope you can get back to your students more, and back to what really love doing. The final project sounds awesome - what a great and creative way to teach. Keep up the amazing work!.

Kiyomi San: So glad the typhoon season is over and you can enjoy being outdoors! The dress is fabulous - you'll look amazing! And the arm jiggles - oh how pesky they are! I am trying to improve them with tricep lifts - I'll let you know how it goes!.

Kaitlin, Teresa, Sony, Elaine - Have a fantastic day! Keep on doing amazing!.

Take care everyone!.

Hi Flirts!.

I guess I lost some days this month already. My girl had her first real "flu"/head cold that started right after Halloween. So, it's all been a blur. She's fine... it just becomes all consuming for a while..

Kat... I love the dress! You're going to look gorgeous in it! Is yours going to be that same red color? It's great..

Hinata, I think I missed something... I'll try to catch up..

I love the way most of your posts start, '...before I head out to the gym...".

I had my 46th birthday yesterday and have almost completely regained all the weight I lost. I'm putting a positive spin on it for myself (as much as I can) and starting a whole new year in the life of Me. I'll get the diet part right this time..

I've been working with my doctor on some medications for my anxiety and I think it's going to help. The new one I'm adjusting to seems to have a huge impact on my appetite..

I know I'm self medicating for anxiety with food much of the time..

Now, I need to get back to doing the work..

UK, I'm so glad you're back. It wouldn't be the same without you. Can you believe it's been a year?!.

Hi Sony, so sorry you struggled with TOM. I can relate to that in many ways..

Elaine...hugs to you..

Kaitlin, thank you for commenting on my blog and for the support. It means so much..

I really missed you this summer..

Afternoon Flirts!.

I'm almost headed out on this cool weather day to go running/walking then work on some abs when I get home. I could do a Zumba class today before work...but we'll see..

Hinata San: I have been doing tricep exercises with the TRX system at the gym. Pull down the weight with a bar or ropes. I can feel the burn there! Also have been using the "row" machine (since that Ali girl from biggest loser said it helped her arms get rid of the jigglies). Also I have been doing "dips" from either a bench or a lower stable item, they are hard! I must find a link to this one exercise that can be done on the floor...its like an all around good move...just don't know the name of it yet. I have been doing lower-weights with more reps, and this week will start less reps with more weight then I'll alternate again..

UK: I wouldn't be suprised if I met this person that just moved to the island! Its such a small world, and especially small over here lol. He'll love it here, and tell him if he comes across any questions that you can relay them to me and I'll tell you what to tell him. I'm always glad to help out the newbies to the island! Also, I'm glad for you that the stress is over and done with, relaxation is key to anything in life!.

Stepheresa: The dress will be black, and we get to pick out our own shoes! I'll have a champagne flower attached to the hip, and all the other girls will have a red flower. On another note...YOU ARE 46?? You don't look a day over 25! Congrats on the birthday, and the renewed sense of self that you feel. I'm going to catch up on reading your blog, I think that you have inspired me to make one myself..

Kaitlin: Its so nice to "meet" you on here..

Lainee: I'll totally be on here more around the holidays...good thing is, we can have turkey and there are always veggies at parties! That's a great motto, I think I'll write that down for myself and carry it in my pocket...

Good morning Flirts!.

Glad to see you back about and actively working on your programs. That's the spirit! Can I just say how thrilled I am to see everyone embracing movement and exercise? Does my soul good to know you are moving - becoming more fit, more active, stronger and more physically capable! Go you all, go!.

I am about to head to the gym soon, but wanted to stop in and say hello. I am beginning to think that it is time to find a bigger gym - maybe something like 24 Hour Fitness or Gold's Gym. While my little apartment gym has been great for training with my mentor and getting me to this point, it is limited in the amount and type of equipment available. Having access to more machines and classes is, I think, the next logical step in my fitness progression. Just have to decide which gym to join! My trainer also wants me to have a plan in place for when he leaves, and that involves a bigger gym..

Other than this, I finally talked to my friend. It was good to speak, and to clear the air about certain issues. I do love him lots, and it did my soul good for us to discuss matters. Not sure where this is heading still, but things feel ok right now. He is still coming in February for his winter break, so that will be nice. If something goes awry, then I will go visit him.

My heart, head, and soul can rest now....

Take care everyone!.

Hope to do a shout out tomorrow if I can stay awake at work..

Tomorrow starts another OYP week and I wish you all the positivity you can handle!.

Here's something that made me smile today:.

A Zen Master is visiting New York City from Tibet. He goes up to a hot dog vendor and says, "Make me one with everything.".

The hot dog vendor fixes a hot dog and hands it to the Zen Master, who pays with a $20 bill..

The vendor puts the bill in the cash box and closes it. "Where's my change?" asks the Zen Master..

The vendor responds, "Change must come from within.".

I love seeing your posts again..

Kat... thanks for the surprise at my age. I think it's just that tiny photo!.

I hope you do make a blog. Let us know! There are some amazing people and stories out there too..

Sony, thank you. My daughter is at the end of the stuffy nose part. With 3, you must go through this all the time. I'm so spoiled, really. I think I'm not going to get it which is another lucky thing..

How are you doing?.

UK- you've had some crazy temptations. How are you doing finding your MF-mojo again? Don't you just want to tell every new person never to ride that first wave all the way?.

Hinata, I didn't realize you were at your apartment gym. That's interesting. So your trainer/mentor/friend lives in your building?.

Have fun going to the "big" gym! You will love the variety of activities..

You're absolutely my favorite example of how I want to do this. When I was feeling discouraged last week I thought about when you weighed.

More.

Than me and how I watched you stick with it through all those slow weeks and look at you now. I was discouraged only for a moment, because then I just thought..."just do that too!" In 10 months I can be right where I want to be..

Thank you for charting the course..

Elaine, shout out right back at you!!.

Today is my day, flirts! I just had my first Medifast meal and I'm in. I thought I might not mention it until I had a few days under my belt. But, I can't wait. And I need the support and accountability. Even though you are all so kind, I don't want to come back here and tell you I didn't do it..

Teresa.

, congratulations on the first day and wish you all the goodluck in the world!!!.

I know you can do it and come back and let us know from time to time how you are faring on it! I'm in that slipoff mode right now it's getting really hard getting back on track! Slipoff meaning i'm not really cheating or binging everyday but i'm admitting that i'm not being 100%OP by the book! I'm still glad & if not least proud of myself that i'm still maintaining at between 163-165'ish weight wise and not gaining anythnig which is teaching me that even though i'm eating realordinary day-to-day food i'm still maintaining my weight at that point! But the sad overwhelming part is I did not reach my goal to go into maintenance mode!!! But still it's good to know that ones at goal I know how to maintain it w/o worrying abt gaining it all back!!!.

Enough of my whining and rant! Have a happy monday everyone..

Good morning Flirts!.

Just back from the gym, and I wanted to stop in and say hello. Seems like everyone is doing well and getting back on a good path. Excellent! My arms are so sore from weight training - I've upped the amount I lift now, so it is challenging to be sure. And I am not sure why, but I am bloated as hell this morning - for some reason I am retaining water like a fiend. My rings are tight, ugh! Perhaps early PMS - sometimes it lasts for two weeks and not 1 week, so that is a possibility. Anyway, I am sure it'll pass soon.

Kaitlin:.

Love the Zen joke XD Hope you are doing well, and that your exercise plan is, pun intended, shaping up nicely. Keep going - you are doing awesome!.

Teresa.

: Indeed, I have been doing all of this at my tiny apartment gym! XD My gym friend/trainer does live in the building, so talk about serendipity! I am looking forward to the bigger gym - to see what new equipment is there and to learn to master it. And thanks for the kind words - glad that my struggles can be helpful to someone else! As for charting a course, someone has to go first right? LOL. I cannot help it - I have always had an innner sense of adventure. I think it is in my blood, being related to various and sundry historical adventurers! And you are right - you CAN and WILL do it too..

I read your blog, and I can relate - I used to compare myself to others too, and feel inadequate when I sized myself up against their achievements. It can be demotivating, truly. The key, for me anyway, to getting past this is to remember that your success does not equal my failure, and my success does not equal somebody else's failure - they are both successes, though they may come at different speeds. You just have to press on and remember that the only person you are in a competition with is yourself, and with your old ways of thinking and eating. Put blinders on to anyone else and how they are doing, and focus on you. You are worth it!.

UKB:.

You are a braver woman than I - having to contend with a chocolate fountain! XD How did the bazaar go? Hope it was fun! Keep up the great work on your treadmill exercises!.

Elaine:.

Just saying hello! Hope you are doing well this week, and have a few moments of rest and relaxation. You are important, and need to take care of yourself too!.

Kiyomi San:.

Just saying hello! Hope things are going well in your world! How's the training going?.

Sony:.

Nice job maintaining - knowing you can not gain weight even if your plan diverges is such a wonderful realization. Keep up the awesome work.

Have a great day everyone!.

Now my husband is sick (throwing up this morning) and my daughter seems to be relapsing a bit with her cold. I'm probably fighting it but hopefully I can ignore it and keep things running around here..

Sony, how do you do it with all your kids?!! And great job maintaining!! You're absolutely right to feel good that you know you can maintain at goal as well. When you're ready, lose a bit more and keep going..

Hinata, I absolutely feel nothing but inpspired by your success and anyone else's success. I just try to solve the puzzle of my own stagnation. Or... today I'm thinking I need to stop trying to "figure it out" and do it. That's where Medifast is a good start for me. It's all figured out and simple in it's way..

Hi Flirts!.

Seems quiet around here again. Ebb and flow.....

I'm still focused and hope to have a good weigh in on Monday. I haven't been MF-ing yet, but working through the mental game..

Blah blah. I can't stand to hear myself talk about it anymore. I hope to have some "proof pudding" soon..

So... How is everyone else? What's happening in your lives?.

I only just realized that Thanksgiving is less than 2 weeks away! It's not a big deal for me eating-wise.. but families....

I have 5 sisters and I think I talked to all of them yesterday... back and forth and back and forth..

One sister invited all her ex-inlaws (17 people!) and didn't mention it to anyone else. There was a whole sweet pototo fiasco already..

In the end, I think we're bowing out of the event. My daughter is in a stage where that is just too many people and it would very likely be no fun at all..

Just my family alone is a lot of people. Hubby is an only child, so we bring his mom with us. That's the easy part..

So, Thanksgiving will be whatever we make it. She's 3, so it can be whatever food we want and maybe some crafts..

Whew!.

What's everyone else doing?.

Good morning Flirts!.

Sorry I have been a bit quiet - lots on my mind these days, and I am feeling more introspective than usual. Normally I just blurt out whatever comes to mind, but right now I have found myself stepping back from that a bit, and just taking time to process situations. I need to do this or I will start snapping at people. There are people in my life that really need to embrace the "Fish or cut bait" philosophy on some of their issues, and I am finding it a challenge to continually listen to the same complaints about the same issue over and over and over when they are taking no action to correct it. I don't mind listening if someone is working toward the goal of making positive change, but when they aren't making any change, or trying to, it gets bothersome. I am about to go "tough love" on some of my nearest and dearest - it might not be pretty, but it might be necessary..

Oh yeah - I should mention that my brother was in a car accident yesterday - well, that is a bit of an understatement. An 18 wheeler hit his car and caused him to crash. He is relatively ok, but he just recently had the last of the surgeries to repair his face from the attack in May that almost killed him, and this wrecked that, so he has to have another surgery. Not to even mention that he just got a new car less than 2 months ago and it is also ruined. At least he is alive though, so we'll get through this as well..

Suffice it to say, it has been a rough few weeks, at least from an emotional standpoint, and interestingly, my desire to eat off my plan has completely skyrocketed. At least I can identify when I want to emotionally eat these days, so I am not sabotaging my efforts, but it has been more challenging than usual..

Teresa:.

I am going to Hawaii for Thanksgiving! Guess this year we will be having traditional Hawaiian fare for Thanksgiving supper - maybe some roast pork and local veggies! We started a new family tradition last year of traveling internationally for Thanksgiving and having a meal of local dishes. Last year I was in Florence, Italy and had spaghetti carbonara for my holiday meal. I'll let you know what I have this year when I return! XD.

I love your family holiday trips. What a fun adventure to share..

I read your blog post and I'm so happy you have your friend to help you come to these conclusions. You're so right that we should never accept less. I don't know how you accessed that quote from Jurassic Park, but it's perfect and certainly is perfect for you this year!.

Hello to all the Flirts!! Have a great weekend..

Good morning Flirts!.

Just stopping in to say hello before I hit the gym. Going through a bit of a plateau, which is frustrating me since I am so close to goal, but I now know that this too shall pass. It's so surreal to only be 22 pounds from my goal - seems so near. I am not sure if I will stay that weight once I get there, or if I will press on and try and lose more. I will see how I feel at that weight and make a decision once I get there. I am trying my best to wrap up this weight loss portion of my health plan by the end of January since that will mark one year of actively trying to lose weight..

It is crunch time folks, which means having to be even more disciplined and more focused. What is weird is that since it is so close, you'd think it would be easier to press on, but it is more difficult now, at least mentally. Maybe because it is so close and I have no patience to wait, or perhaps because I am exhausted of months of hard discipline to get to this point - whatever the cause, this last portion of the trek is certainly challenging my resolve. Just gotta press on right?.

Anyway, Hawaii is coming up in 10 days, and I have a date with a surfboard. I'm so excited about this, you have no idea. If I can do it, then I will have tackled one of my original 2 fitness goals. After that, I have a date with Fuji. I'll take lots of pics to share!.

Teresa:.

Thanks so much for your kind words and sending good thoughts to my brother. Indeed, he has had an awful year to be sure. It almost seems as if the great wheel of karma went "Oh damn, you have had a happy and uncomplicated life for the past 5 years with no real upheaval. Whoops! Let me correct that!" XD I just hope he can mentally overcome all these challenges to get to an even better place in his life..

UKB, Sony, Elaine, Kiyomi San:.

Hope you ladies are having a great weekend!.

Hinata, So sorry about your brother's car crash! You know whatttt???? I was in a car accident on friday morning on my way back home after dropping my kiddo at school!!!! I took my DH's Honda accord to drop my son at school and was heading home, I drive on that road like 10X a day, so I was minding my business driving and this crazy teenager just drives off from his driveway trying to pull on the road and since he didn't clean his windshield which was packed with atleast 1 inch or more of solid ice apparently cuz he was in a hurry to reach somewhere so says he didnt get time to clear it and obviously could'nt see the road or me driving on it and hit me so hard on my side of the car and also rearended!!! He could've have easily prevented it from happenning had he taken just a single minute cleaning up his windshield!!! Luckily I didn't even have a scratch or any injuries but this is my first accident ever!!! I was in such a traumatic situation that nobody can even imagine! He got points and tickets and probably will get his licence suspended too for a careless driving!!! His insurance has immediately taken full responsibility and we got a rental car which DH will drive since I hate to get on strane wheels I get nervous... and I have my own acura mdx so I think we shouldn't have any problem....the car was hauled away to a collision center so we'll know the details on monday tomorrow.....anyway it was a nightmare I tell ya.....(((((Hugs))))).......

Hello Flirts,.

Just checking in after a long and wacky travel work week....

It was tough to stay the course this week, but I was rewarded this AM by reaching a new decade. I'm now in the 240's. Yes!.

Hinata~.

I will send positive thoughts out to your brother. He has had a very challenging year to say the least! He is certainly due some major R & R. I hope 2011 will hold all good things for him!.

Sounds like your eye is on the prize! 22 pounds is a small number compared to what you have already accomplished, but I know the last bit of the journey is often the hardest to complete... You will prevail!.

I always picture you standing victorious and facing the sun on Mt. Fuji!.

Teresa~.

I agree with the "too many people" at Thanksgiving thing. We are choosing to stay home this year because DH's family is very large and usually someone has a big get-together, but we both really need a quiet and peaceful holiday this year. Others may not be happy with our choice, but we are!.

Sony~.

My goodness, what's with the accidental nature of the universe this week? I'm so glad you are okay, but what a story!.

I travel a lot for work, and I noticed many close calls this week with the driving conditions more stressful than usual. In fact, I think "Holiday-itis" is in full swing early this year and many drivers just have their minds elsewhere. I guess it's a warning to all of us to be ultra-alert and stay safe while driving around between now and the New Year!.

UK,.

LAINEE,.

KAT,.

And all other Flirts, Wishing you all a positive and peaceful week!.

Good morning Flirts!.

Just back from the gym and had my shower - always like the feeling of a shower after working out. Makes me feel less grubby XD Another Monday rolls around and it is back to work - hope my inbox hasn't exploded over the weekend..

I cannot believe it is already mid-November. This year seems to have flown by far faster than I ever could have imagined. I always get a bit introspective this time of year, and reflect back on everything that has happened in my life. Unlike most years, this year was full of change and growth - sometimes exhilarating, sometimes painful, it has been a year of transition for me. I feel so close to the verge of becoming everything I believe I was meant to be, that it is at once frightening and beautiful. I am not sure yet that I can even articulate everything I have learned, and the many ways I have grown.

Heading into next year, I hope to carry the torch further and press on to see what is around the bend. I no longer hide from life, but embrace it and look for ways to explore it. I have no idea where I am going, but it feels right..

Sony:.

My gosh, so sorry to hear about your accident! I am so very glad you are ok, and still have a means to get about. You take care of yourself out there ^^.

Kaitlin:.

Congrats on hitting 240 - that is awesome! Keep up the amazing work. And thanks for sending positive thoughts for my brother - he can use all the positivity he can get!.

As for pressing on with my plan, indeed, 22 pounds is small compared to what I have lost, but it still seems like so much. As my friend Alan says "90% of the effort goes into the last 10% of the project." I just have to be more focused, more determined, and more steadfast in my discipline. I have no intention of tripping at the finish line - I have seen too many people around these boards do that, and be unable to come back..

I wonder how much of the inability to "re-start" has to do with fear of success rather than fear of failure. I think many of us often mistake the two because we are not typically taught to ask "What happens if I succeed?" but rather approach things with a "What happens if I fail?" perspective. So indeed, what does happen if one succeeds? His or her life entirely changes - that is an overwhelming prospect I don't think many of us consider when we start this journey. I know for myself, life has changed in so many dramatic ways I never expected - it is overwhelming. The closer one gets to goal, the more overwhelming it is because it forces one to embrace a whole new set of truths and beliefs..

The path to gaining good health is at once letting go of the past and embracing the future while living entirely in the present moment..

Not to get too Zen on you, but this is what I have come to believe!.

Have a great week everyone!.

Hinata.

Good morning Flirts!.

Just stopping by before I head to the gym to meet my trainer. I couldn't sleep last night so have been up since 1:45 am - ugh. Too much on my mind I guess, and in this dark time of year, I am having struggles with keeping my spirits up. I am feeling constantly challenged these days, and frankly, it is wearing me down a bit. Between the accidents, being all but ignored by my date/friend and trying to mend a broken heart, work-stresses, my brother's surgery, fitness plateau, and head cold from hell - it is just piling up. I feel like Atlas with the world on my shoulders, and I hope I have the strength to carry on with everything.

Still, I press on - they say it is darkest before dawn, so maybe this is just my darkest moment, and soon I will see the light again..

Take care of yourselves, ok?.

Thanks for the kind thoughts and prayers Sony - it means a lot to me. Indeed, this has all been a lot to take on at once so I have to be strong. I won't trip at the finish line, not now - I have come to far and have important things to do with my new-found knowledge. Failure is not an option. As for my friend, I thought he was admiring me too, but I guess there are things going on I have no idea about - maybe another woman, maybe life things, maybe it is too big and scary for him right now - who knows. All I know is that my heart is broken, but I have to continue moving forward.

And hey, I have a balance in my life - I have a gym friend/mentor that has showed me how men should treat women. He loves me, as a friend of course, but he loves me deeply, and cares for me deeply, and that example is helping to heal me in amazing and brilliant ways beyond this incident with my camping friend..

You be well too and hang in there - you are doing awesome, even if it doesn't feel like it some days. Just keep going until you get where you are meant to be..

Hello Everyone!.

So, here is the thing...my work has now blocked this site from the computers at work. No idea why, when the pop up comes up it says that it's a "blog website" and won't allow me to post. The only time I'm ever really on the computer is when I'm at work, because I don't like to stare at it at home..

I'm starting to hate Thanksgiving. Everyone is talking about the recipes they are making...and my husband wants the works for the holiday. Hopefully I can just stick to turkey and plain green beans. What better gift could I give to myself than staying on plan through the rest of this month? None..

I have discovered trigger foods for myself. One big one being peanut butter, and now that it's gone, I do not plan on buying anymore..

So far I've had a raspberry iced tea packet, and since I'm home on this lovely warm sunday, I plan on eating meals that I have to mix water with. I have my gallon of water sitting here, and it's my goal for today to drink it ALL...

Hello.

Flirts!.

Hope you are all doing well and in a good "mind space" for the upcoming holiday..

It will be a challenge for sure. I am down 4 pounds this week, so that will give me some mental momentum to motivate me thru the temptations to come. We are entertaining my husband's family, so we will have about 8-10 people. My husband is a fantastic cook. He will be doing most of the cooking and I will assist. We have both been low-carb for about a year, so we are used to avoiding all the traditional "trimmings", of course we are still offering all this high carb fare to our guests, and that's where the challenge comes in.

Hinata~.

Hope you are feeling better after all you have been through in the last few weeks! I'm sorry about your fender bender, and I'm glad to hear no real damage was done. I will be sending ultra positive thoughts your way for a peaceful holiday!.

Teresa~.

I am loving your "Today is a Good Day to Diet" blog and it continues to lift my spirits every morning! Thank you for sharing and have a beautiful Thanksgiving with your family!.

Sony~.

Thank you for the recipe compliment! Sounds like you have been really busy! I hope you have a stress-free and chill-axed holiday!.

Kat~.

I can relate about being "blocked" at work. Every week they block more and more sites. I try to catch up on Medifast and other social threads on the weekends, but I really prefer not to be "plugged in" to technology when I'm at home because my job is so intensely technology oriented, I really cherish my down time to just chill..

UK~.

What's up in your world? I know you must be very busy at school this time of year. Hope you are doing well. We miss you!.

Sony, Teresa, and Kaitlin.

For the kind words of support. I know this mopey mood of mine will eventually pass - it's just really challenging right now. That said, I am still on my path to good health. The losses are much slower now, but they are still coming. Jeans felt looser this morning, so I weighed in -.

Currently at 165.

! Awesome - that is 2 pounds from having lost 100 pounds, 6 pounds from a healthy weight for the first time in 30 some years, and 19 pounds to goal. Less than 20 to go - run me to the finish line Flirts! I am still not sure if I will stop at my original goal weight or lose more after that - the important thing is to get there..

Sorry to hear that work blocked your access to the forums - blah! Still glad to see you around, and to know you are doing great. Keep up the awesome work ^^.

I didn't do too good food wise as I am up a ton of weight, but I am back on the plan as of this moment. I figure most of it is a good bit of water retention since I didn't possibly eat the calories to warrant this level of weight gain. Eep! No worries, the threadmill is calling me as is weight lifting, so soon enough it will be gone.
