My 1st question is: What do you honestly think of this Nutrisystem diet plan? Thanks for any answer. My other question... Morning everyone! Happy 2007!. |

Good question... I dunno what is the answer to your question. I'll do some Googling and get back to you if I bump into an good answer. You should email the people at Nutrisystem as they probably could answer your Nutrisystem question..

No, not yet. But I did see the commercials yesterday that featured all of the bikini-clad women, I'm-so-thrilled-I'm-in-a-size-2 women..
While WW and Jenny Craig's focus is on health and well-being, NS's focus is on impossible-to-attain, socially driven images of "beauty." It would be different if the Nutrisystem spokeswomen all didn't have boob jobs, bleached teeth, and hair extensions....... Of course, se3 sells, and that's what Nutrisystem is selling... |

I change channels whenever the Nutrisystem commercial appears I HATE THEM ALL they are uniformaly irritating, and stupid no wit or interest EVER.
Hint hint see preceding comments and CHANGE your approach. NOW aren't you GLAD you asked (and twice even) ????. Lynn.. |

Good morning,.
I don't want to be a nay-sayer, and I know these commercials sell the plan. Here's my "but".... I saw a lot of Nutrisystem commercials last night showing women who are very, very thin (and beautiful, too...). But they are almost embarassing to watch. Not because they are beautiful, but because I think the focus is too "size number" oriented.. I don't want my fiance to think I'm obsessively trying to be a certain size (much less a size 2), and using Nutrisystem to get there. I'm not disparaging anyone who is a size 2your size is your size and it all depends on your body type, genetics, etc., what size you can get to and be at to maintain good health. These Nutrisystem commercials are reinforcing the perception that a size 2 or 4 is what we all need to have, regardless of our specifics.. My fiance sees the commercials and worries about me and what I'm doing. He believes, because the commercials reinforce this, that my goal is to be size 2 because that's what the commercials are touting. I have had to explain to him that I'm not obsessive and I'm not trying to be super tiny. I am trying to be "healthy" regardless of what size I am or become on this plan. I see this plan as a means to attain a more healthy eating style and a way to learn control over my portion sizes and snack habits.. It would be good for Nutrisystem to also reinforce this idea of a lifetime of healthy eating and learning healthy habits by using the Nutrisystem plan. It would be good to see women (or men) that don't have to mention their tiny clothes size. This only exacerbates body-image issues for many women, and their loving partners. And if Nutrisystem had more "healthy" commercials, I would not be so embarassed about telling others that I am on NS. I WANT to be a Nutrisystem proponent, not opponent. I want to tell others that I like the plan and it's a reasonable and healthy option just like WW. J... |

I agree that a more "healthy lifestyle" emphasis would be a much better theme than the current "become a tiny size in a bikini" thing that Nutrisystem is advertising..
I think they should also stress a little more of the "maintenance support" for when one actually reaches his or her goal and is mostly interested in maintaining the loss they have achieved.. My husband and I joined for the convenience of prepared nutritious foods, portion control, and incorporating healthy and good-tasting foods into our daily menus.. A very valuable bonus is the support and creative ideas to be found on these boards... |

You dug deep for this old fossil didn't you. I don't mind the gals OCCASIONALLY posting, but the glitter has to go, it's not only unsightly but it's also unmanly..
Please unclick your glitter at the door... |
