Quick question: What is that celebrity Nutrisystem diet? Hoping for any answer or 2. Another question on my mind: I went for my annual physical yesterday to my doctor's office. When she saw me the first thing she said was that she didn't think she would have recognized me if she had seen me on the street. My doctor is very good and takes the time, that many doctor's won't, to discuss my health - but most of the time she's very reserved. Near the end of my visit (I will get blood work next week so I don't have those numbers yet), she said:. |

I'm stumped. I'm not so sure what is the answer to that question. I'll do some investigation and get back to you if I got an answer. You should email the people at Nutrisystem as they probably know..

Great story!! My hat's off to anyone that loses 100 pounds. Congrats! And thanks for the inspiration you provide to the rest of us...
|
|
Congratulations!! I LOVE those reactions from the doctor!! Great job!..

Cheers Tom! That's awesome - it feels so good to know that you've gotten there..
I also went to my Dr. for blood work yesterday, and she had a very similiar thing to say. I'm down 60lbs (trying to get to 72lb) and she said "How did you do it?" I filled her in on the diet and exercise changes, and she said it may her day. She said I've saved myself from Type II diabetes in all likely hood also - I wasn't having glucose issues but it runs in my family. Apparently regulating blood sugar does wonders for the organs.. I can't believe I'm actually looking forward to hearing what my blood work is going to return. I used to dread going to the Dr, not anymore!! BP in July was 154/99, yesterday it was 112/64. HB was 95, yesterday it was 75. Come on blood work!. Sorry to hijack, I'm just excited too!.. |

Congrats Tom! You are certainly an inspiration to all of us here and your valuable input is always appreciated!..

|
Congrats. I avoid doctors at all costs..
I must be demented because I want to get in good shape and then go see a doctor so they don't lecture me... |
|
Tom,.
Congratulations and thanks for the VERY inspirational post. With a long haul still in front of me, it helps to read success stories like yours!! Good for you.. I raise my glass of water to you!.. |

Tom....
You have always inspired me since I started NS... the NSV this time is no different. Thanks for sharing.. Only thing I have to ask.... You said your DOC almost cried but are you sure it wasn't you? after all it was your yearly physical so I'm sure checking the ol'prostate was on the agenda.. |
|
Inspirational Tom..
Sounds like a great Doc you have there. You are one of the lucky ones.. Yours are some of the posts that I go out of the way to read (even if it means lurking in the men's room at times...shhh don't tell anyone).. It's posters like you, PamSB, WizzBomb, Hunny8, doggymommy, damon, hazelangeleyes, Rose-Water, SexyJohn, tgates, snickfly and many many others that have made it easier for me to stick to what I started. Ya all keep it real during both the struggles and the triumphs. Thanks for that.. Thanks for sharing, and thanks for being a source of inspiration to me and others here on the boards whether known or unbeknown to you that's what you are, a shining light of inspiration. Now you are in the know... |

Tom,.
Congrats!. It is your type of attitude that makes the difference.. I have to agree that I just don't understand the complaining about some food choices we have. The fact is we do have food choices and you just need to find what you like.. I also think most of those people haven't come to terms with the fact that Nutrisystem is not a diet, but a life change. If you don't adjust to the portions and the balance of the food, you stand little chance of success in the future.. One other thing...I work in a hospital and I also try to avoid physicians. Awesome story, congratulations and continued success in maintaining the new healthy lifestyle..

I think we have a mutual admiration society... I admire all that you do to inspire and encourage others..
It was after she gave me the encouragement that he told me to bend over. Thanks everyone for your kind words!.. |

Tom, thanks for sharing that..
Susan and I use the same doctor and he keeps a before and after picture of us that he shows to some of his patients. I think he's pretty impressed with our success as your doc is with yours. Isn't it great?.. |
|
Larry it's terrific. I think I've been looking forward to that appointment since I realized what Nutrisystem could help me accomplish. Thanks again for you and Susan sticking around. Although much less now, my biggest concern is the possibility of back sliding. Folks like you, Pam, Robin, Tomnew and Vayder are great role models!..
