Got a question, hope someone can answer... Why am I not losing weight on the Medifast Diet? Looking forward for any comment. Second question.. I completed my first week yesterday. I have been feeling better than ever with lots of energy and I haven't been hungry at all. I avoided a huge temptation this weekend and stayed OP the entire week. |

I would like to know the answer too. Anyone here know what is the right answer to your question. I'll do some research in Google and get back to you if I find an useful answer. You should email the people at Medifast as they probably can answer it..

If you are following the plan as written then the weight will come off. Most people do have a larger 1st week loss then slow down around week 2 or 3. You may have a huge loss next week. Is it TOM??? Constipation??? I know these are probing questions but you may want to consider them and of course you don't have to post the answers here. Are you weighing and measuring your L&G? Not overdoing the condiments? What about the snack? Maybe your body needs more food. Sometimes Nutrition Support suggests to people that have over 50lbs to lose to do the 4&2 plan.
I would call Medifast and speak to Nutrition Support. If you post your question, it could take several days to get an answer but if you call, you can speak directly to a nutritionist. Good Luck!!!!.. |

Hang in there! It will come off! I would make sure you are weighing and measuring. I know it is a pain, but so worth it in the end. It could make the difference,..
Your body could just be in shock after the first week and wants to hoard, or you could have been dehydrated and the water hasn't flushed yet.. Stick with it! You are doing great!.. |

Ohhh, that irritating scale! I know well how it can affect the mood! Hang in there and the weight will come off, and echoing the advice of others do talk with nutrition, or there is also free health coaching available. My health coach has been a huge part of my success thus far! I've called her with every question and frustration....(I even called her on a day I wanted to ditch the plan and eat a whole pizza...just cuz) I think that everyone looses at different rates and the important thing is you are making a choice to change your life for the better!..

Hang in there. I, too, was frustated at only losing 4 pounds the first week - I am on week 4 and haven't had that "huge" week weight loss - but slow and steady I'm ok with as long as they keep coming off. I know it seems like a huge journey but just take it one day/one week at a time. I've lost 15.5 pounds for weeks 1-4 and feel so much better. I focus on the positives and try not to get discouraged by the scale - as long as it's moving down that's the important thing...

@Danna.
- You are doing great so far! Nutrition Support will probably just tell you that if you lost 2-5 lbs in a week you are on track.. Just wondering if you drank enough water before going on Medifast? Maybe this could be explained because then your body wouldn't have been holding to to excess water.. I lost 9 lbs my first week, but I guarantee that was mostly water weight loss because I could see less retention in my feet. Before Medifast, I almost never drank water (just diet soda & black coffee) so I am sure my body was holding onto all the water it could in "survival mode". From what I have read about water weight loss, is that when you start giving your body the amount of water it needs, it will release the excess water it was holding onto, which explains big first week numbers.. @Katy. - I would say that you have had huge numbers! 4 lbs a week is a lot!!! That is 104 lbs in 6 months. You are doing great too!.. |

In addition to all the good points that others have already made, were you dieting recently before starting MF? Or just eating healthy and exercising? I think that impacted my loss into being a lot more of the slow and steady, rather than seeing the huge losses that others had. I lost 6 pounds my first week, and it was pretty much along the lines that you saw, losses on the first few days, nothing for the latter part of the week..
Something you may also notice is that even when the scale is holding steady, your body may be adjusting and growing smaller (losing inches and feeling your clothes getting looser even when the scale is holding steady).. 4 pounds in a week is still a great loss! And if you're feeling great during your first week, that is even more awesome, because a lot of people get system shock.. |

I just started today and had a little bit of a hard time. Hang in there. I am going to try and get familar with the tools and people on here to help me as much as possible. Best wishes...

Danna, first of all, lots of (((HUGS)))..
CodyJo hit it on the head with the water intake.. I wasn't getting alot of water in pre-MF and that's why I had a large loss my first week.. Ususally is. But, I do believe you lost PURE unadulterated FAT!. SO, that is fantastic! And when I was in the 300s, 3-4 pounds per week in my first months were normal.. So, to me, you are on track, gal.. Breathe in, breathe out. IT's alll good!.. |
